I feel good. One of my clients read my recent blog and proudly sent me an email letting me know that his company had just hired 3 teams of purchase specialists. This made me happy. Our industry is cyclical, and the most successful businesses stay that way by turning lemons into lemonade during downcycles. This is no time to go into a funk!
My challenge to you is to come up with plans for turning bad news into good news.
I recently had a call from a branch which wants to affiliate with a strong company licensed in all states which issues bonds and has ample warehouse facilities. The principals of this branch have close to $2 million in Cash and are looking for the perfect mortgage lender with which to partner.
I get calls from companies which want to merge, sell themselves or obtain more capital. I had a call from someone who sounded like a scientist. However, instead of mixing chemicals or discovering new planets, this gentleman constructs lists of potential home buyers. Like many, his company is looking for a place to land.
My point is that we’re entering some interesting times. I think we’re also about to find quite a few interesting opportunities…if we’re willing to open our eyes to them!
